Currently Arise Software Ltd do not offer cloud services. So we got advice from cloud service providers for their costings:
Provider 1Cloud Services based on 2 processors 8GB RAM and 10 GB Storage
- This should be seen as a minimum starting point
- The storage space is to support SQL Server mainly
- As the database grows, so will the need for additional storage space
- Other consideration is storage of documents linked in GDMA, such as succession order documents
Process required for
backing up the database on a regular and sometimes ad-hoc basis
- Storage allowance need to be considered for backups
Support- Keeping track of storage space (mainly due to SQL Server log files)
- Checking backups
- Restarting SQL Server if required
SQL Server- For 5 users, SQL Server Express 2014 (free) will suffice. Otherwise if the demand increases, then SQL Server standard (not free) would need to be looked at.
- Each user will need their own windows profile and not shared due to the way user settings are saved for the packages.
Cost- Initial indication of cost from cloud service providers is approximately $1,000 per month excluding GST. The cost includes support from the providers.

Subject: RE: Refreshing cloud server with Hamilton database
For 5 user access to an RDS Server you would be looking at 2 vCPU machine with 8GB RAM and 100GB of disk. This would be backed up nightly and retained for 30 days (if the customer wants a monthly tape backup this can be provided for an additional $[] per month).
This configuration would cost your customer $[] per month โ this includes 5 User CALs for Office Standard and RDS CALs and AV running on the server. It includes 5Mb Internet plan (unlimited traffic) which I would think would be enough for this setup, additional 5Mb increments are $[] each/month.
If you wanted SQL Standard the cost effective way would be 5 CALs @ $[] each/month โ whereas a Unlimited user Processor version is $[]/month.
This includes a financial based SLA for the platform, 24/7 monitored and supported but does not include management of the Windows guest running your application.
If you would like [us] to support, manage, patch, monitor and report on the Windows guest then this is $[] for business hours support or $[] for 24/7 (each per month)
I would estimate installation to be $1,440

Document storage for
GDMA is easy โ in the MISC tab of the main screen allows for attachment of the
files and we have introduced QRCODE (a special type of barcode) that can be
printed, scanned by any
scanner and using software that will automatically read the QRCODE and name the
file for automatic linking into GDMA.

If there is no installation of MS Access 2010 (32 bit version only) or below, install MS Access 2010 runtime 32 bit (via MS site).
Find that particular MS Access 32bit exe and run it. By running it, it may do some additional installing procedures. Then when running GDPro.adp via c:\programs files(x86)\gdpro\ it will ask which MS Access to associate the ADP with, select the MS Access 2010 icon.
Alternatively create shortcuts:
- 32 bit computers: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\MSACCESS.EXE" "C:\Program Files\GDPro\GDPro.ade"
- 64 bit computers: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\MSACCESS.EXE" "C:\Program Files (x86)\GDPro\GDPro.ade"
Folder Security
ยท
Ensure the user of the computer has full
control access rights to the folder.
- Right click on c:\program files\gdpro\ and
select properties and then the security tab
- Ensure local user has full control privileges
to the folder
- Ensure the folder is not read only
